After his loss to Undertaker at Wrestlemania, Punk stepped away from the WWE.
For his fans, the best way to keep up with Punk when he's not on television is via his Twitter feed.
Since then, Punk's Twitter feed has been dominated by one topic and one topic only—the Chicago Blackhawks.
It's no secret that Punk is a diehard Chicagoan, so no one should be surprised by his love of the Chicago Blackhawks, but the fervor at which he shares his Blackhawks love is unmatched.
Punk was at the United Center for Saturday night's Game 5 matchup between the Hawks and the L.A. Kings, and he basically live tweeted the entire event.
His tweets range from congratulating players on smooth plays or line changes, to photos from the UC, to calling out the L.A. Kings' mascot, Bailey.
For any fan of the WWE and the Chicago Blackhawks, following Punk's Twitter feed during a Hawks game is a must.
Punk even maintained his "up yours" attitude by tweeting a photo of his feet resting on the boards while sitting on the glass at the United Center—a seat any Hawks fan would kill to have.
Though Punk's support of the Blackhawks is at a fevered pitch, he isn't the only WWE star that pays attention to the NHL.
John Cena chimed in by tweeting a congratulatory message to Chicago's favorite pro wrestler:
Perhaps Punk's ties to Chicago and Cena's ties to Boston will lead to a Twitter battle during the Stanley Cup Final between the Hawks and Bruins.
Original six!For the cup!I'm stoked!I'm coming for ya Boston!— CM Punk (@CMPunk) June 9, 2013
No matter what, Punk is sure to win the battle for Most Dedicated Hockey Fan in the WWE.
Will the Chicago Blackhawks continue their run and win the Stanley Cup?
If they do (and this writer hopes they do) they'll join their biggest fan as the Best in the World.
