5 Reasons Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee Will Own WWE for the Rest of 2013

Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee are set to take over the WWE.

It’s already starting to become fact. Early on, the couple got off to a rough start but have since seen their relationship improve throughout all of their hardships. After all, Ziggler recently won his second World title before suffering a concussion, while Lee has earned a title shot for the Divas Championship in the near future.

The combo of Ziggler and Lee is poised to take the WWE by storm. There are five reasons that prove their momentum won’t die down this year and show what they bring to the table in the WWE. Not only do the following reasons epitomize who they are, but these reasons reveal the staying power the couple possess and that the company desperately needs.

Here are five reasons Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee will rule the WWE this year.

5. In-Ring Style

Their matches are interesting for different reasons.

We all know Ziggler can put on exciting matches with the best of them. His work with CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan and John Cena since last year shows he can keep the fans interested. He’s a solid ring worker who constantly sells each move almost like death.

Lee’s recent matches are a different story. She started her latest trend when she won the No. 1 contender's Diva Battle Royal to earn a title shot. After getting kicked in the head by Tamina Snuka, she played possum until eliminating Layla to win the contest. Lee’s perfected the possum tactic while putting her opponents in the Black Widow submission.

Both provide excitement for different reasons. But Ziggler and AJ bring that same level of interest to their matches.

4. Chemistry

You can always tell when an on-screen couple has chemistry. These two fit the bill seamlessly.

Ziggler and AJ started their romance at last year’s TLC, where AJ helped him defeat Cena to retain his Money in the Bank briefcase.

Since then, they’ve worked well together. Even when they travel on the road, their on-screen romance is effective. Check out both of their Twitter accounts. You’ll see how great they’re selling their romance as a true love story.

3. Faction Potential

Ziggler and AJ aren’t the only ones that are a part of their clique. They still have Big E Langston in tow with them.

Langston serves as the enforcer of the group. However, subtle hints depict him breaking off from the group. Wouldn’t it be too soon for that to happen?

It would be a great idea to keep these three together a little while longer. Langston would probably chase after the midcard titles, while Ziggler and AJ would stay in the championship hunt to some extent.

If all three wrestlers carried their respective titles, they would possess the same notoriety as The Shield: three great young talents holding three title belts at the same time.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

2. Franchise Players

Both Ziggler and AJ are young in the wrestling world. Ziggler is in his prime at 32, and AJ is 26.

Both have plenty of legs left in the WWE barring serious injury, and the best part about them is their staying power. What a winning combination—stamina and charisma!

Ziggler showcased his abilities since fighting Rey Mysterio in 2009 for the Intercontinental title. His matches, from the midcard division to the main event, have made Ziggler into the worker he is today.

AJ achieved her momentum differently. After breaking up last year on-screen with Daniel Bryan, she adopted the “crazy chick” gimmick. It worked to perfection, even stealing some attention away from the main eventers.

Both still have that momentum, which brings us to our main reason why they’ll own the rest of 2013.

1. Fans Care

The WWE Universe still cares about Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee.

Both still incite strong reactions from the crowd. The fans respect both WWE Superstars.

Case in point with Ziggler’s strong reaction, which started last year and was only amplified when he cashed in his briefcase on the Raw after WrestleMania 29. That reaction nearly blew the roof off the Izod Center that night.

The fans also give a great reaction for AJ Lee. Her character work has made her the most important Diva in the fans’ eyes today, an accomplishment for the Divas division, let alone the WWE.

Ziggler and AJ will rule for the rest of 2013 because the fans care enough about these two WWE Superstars and want to see them succeed. Upon Ziggler’s return, expect him and AJ (with perhaps Langston in tow) to own the WWE.
