Arsenal Transfer News: Julio Cesar Would Be Perfect Option for Gunners
Don't worry, Arsenal supporters. There are still plenty of ways to benefit from a potential Julio Cesar move to the Emirates this summer.
Sky Bet revealed it is no longer taking any bets on whether or not Cesar will be moving to the Gunners from Queens Park Rangers:
That offers nothing definitive, but it's a sign that the transfer could be inching closer.

CNN football expert Tancredi Palmeri reported there is plenty of weight behind the speculation, but nothing is done:
Any move would be great news for Arsenal, as they couldn't do any better by incumbent No. 1 Wojciech Szczesny than signing Cesar.
While at Inter Milan, Cesar positioned himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Between 2007-10, he kept 50 clean sheets in Serie A. Now that's a result of the entire defense working together, but it's also a testament to Cesar's quality as well.
Then following the 2010 World Cup, the Brazilian goalkeeper started to decline a bit. Brazil as a whole was underwhelming, and Cesar appeared to have lost some confidence. His form also took a tumble as Inter struggled after Jose Mourinho's departure.
When he signed for QPR, Cesar was still a bit of a wild card. The skeptics were proven foolish, as the 33-year-old demonstrated he's still got more than enough in the tank to remain a first-choice goalkeeper with some dazzling performances amidst a general malaise at the club.
With QPR's relegation, Arsene Wenger would be able to make a very cheap move for Cesar. That would leave plenty in the budget for the club to add some defenders and a striker as well.
Unlike the low transfer fee, Wenger won't be able to put a price tag on what this move could do for Szczesny. The 23-year-old looked to have lost a bit of his confidence last season, and that led to some uncharacteristic mistakes.
In addition, Szczesny seems to have grown a bit complacent with his role in the squad. There's not enough competition for him at the moment that could really threaten his starting role.
If Szczesny gets hurt or hits a bad run of form, Cesar can be a great option for Wenger to call upon.
Simon Mignolet is a name that's been thrown about, including this report from the Independent, regarding a move to Arsenal. That would be a foolish move, not so much because Mignolet isn't good enough, but rather that he's so good and so young that it wouldn't work with him and Szczesny.
It's not as if Szczesny was so poor last season that you don't think he'll be a good goalkeeper going forward. Wenger doesn't need to move for a young player to replace Szczesny. He simply needs a player who can complement the Polish stopper.
That's exactly what Cesar would do.
At this stage in his career, Cesar will not likely be demanding to play first-team football every week. He'll be happy with the occasional start here and there. Cesar would remain in the Champions League and likely get an occasional appearance in Europe's premier club competition.
And hey, anything will be better than being stuck with QPR in the Championship.
Regarding the possible move, you have to factor in what Szczesny would be able to learn from Cesar. He's never really had the kind of figure at Arsenal that would have been able to mentor him in the way that Cesar can. The Brazilian has a ton of experience and won just about everything that a goalkeeper can. There is a great amount of wisdom that he would be able to share with Szczesny.
In a couple of years, Cesar's time at Arsenal would likely be coming to a close. By then a 25-year-old Szczesny would be plenty ready to become a leader at the club and fully prepared and confident enough to handle starting duties each and every week.
This is a move that helps everybody involved.
