Chael Sonnen Continues to Push for 'Easy Fight' with 'Broke' Wanderlei Silva

Former UFC middleweight/light heavyweight title challenger Chael Sonnen wants to fight PRIDE legend Wanderlei Silva next, and he doesn't want to take no for an answer.

Early Monday morning, Sonnen tweeted two specific reasons why he wants to square off with "The Axe Murderer" next:

The bout has been heavily rumored to headline the UFC's network debut on FOX Sports 1, set for August 17 at the TD Garden in Boston Massachusetts, though is yet to be formally announced.

Despite that fact, Sonnen seems to think it's a forgone conclusion that he will be going toe-to-toe with "The Axe Murderer" this summer, based on his new Twitter background

Silva seems keen on the potential matchup as well, tweeting an infamous video from 2010 that involved an encounter between Silva and Sonnen in Brazil.

After a rough 2-6 stretch between September 2006 and July 2011, the former PRIDE middleweight champion has went 2-1 in his past three fights, with both wins coming by way of knockout.

The Brazilian looked to be in vintage form against Brian Stann at UFC on FUEL 8 in March, scoring a brutal second-round KO, though he would face a much different challenge in a high-level wrestler like Sonnen.

Sonnen is coming off back-to-back failed title bids against long-reigning middleweight champ Anderson Silva and 205-pound title holder Jon Jones, though he notched wins over Stann and perennial 185-pound contender Michael Bisping before that.

Are Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva destined for a showdown in August or will the UFC throw a curveball and match the two up with completely different opponents?
