QPR vs. Arsenal: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info and Preview

Tim DanielsMay 4, 2013

Arsenal must emerge from Loftus Road with all three points as they attempt to lock down a Champions League berth with Tottenham in close pursuit. Queens Park Rangers should pose little resistance now that they are headed for relegation.

The Gunners currently hold a two-point edge on Spurs, but their rivals have a match in hand, which means Arsenal doesn't control their own destiny. It's vital for them to secure the road victory to keep the pressure on Tottenham.

QPR were never able to put together a sustained comeback effort after a slow start to the campaign. A draw with Reading sealed their fate for next season, leaving the Hoops with nothing to play for except pride over the final weeks.

The match sets up well for Arsenal, but they must still go out and earn the win. Here's a look at all the important viewing information for the match, followed by a breakdown of players to watch and a prediction.

Where: Loftus Road in London, England

When: Saturday, May 4 at 12:30 p.m. ET

Watch: Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Deportes

Live Stream: Fox Soccer 2Go

QPR Player to Watch: Robert Green

Green has split time with Julio Cesar throughout his first campaign with QPR. He deserves another start after a strong showing against Reading. He made five stops in the scoreless draw, marking his second clean sheet in 11 league starts.

Even though Green has been prone to costly lapses throughout his career, it shouldn't overshadow the fact that he's been a solid keeper for a long time. He's been a reliable veteran presence on a lackluster squad when given the nod this season.

Arsenal are going to pull out all the stops in search of a win. That means it will probably be a busy afternoon for Green. If the Hoops are going to play the role of spoiler by earning at least a draw, Green will have to lead the way at the back.

Arsenal Player to Watch: Theo Walcott

Walcott once again showed off his quick-strike ability against Manchester United last weekend. The winger broke free and put the Gunners on top inside the first two minutes. Even though they didn't hold the lead, it showed how quickly he can turn a match.

At the same time, the speedy England international also showed where he needs to improve moving forward. After scoring that goal, he failed to make a major impact over the final 88 minutes. He must become more of a constant threat to emerge as a top player.

Arsenal need him to step up against QPR. He should find plenty of room to operate against a Hoops defense that allowed 11 goals in five matches prior to last week's clean sheet. When Walcott has time and space, he usually makes the opponent pay.

Matchup to Watch: QPR attack vs. Arsenal back line

No Premier League club has scored fewer goals than QPR. They have found the net just 29 times in 35 matches, and no player on the squad has more than five. The Hoops have also been held scoreless in three straight matches.

Those numbers obviously illustrate why they won't be sticking in the top flight for another season. That said, they should have some opportunities on the counterattack as Arsenal attempts to push forward seeking the win.

With extra players moving up the pitch to support the attack, the Gunners' back line must be prepared for those rush chances. The group has been playing well lately with just one goal allowed in the last three matches. It should have no problem handling a lackluster QPR attacking group.

Prediction

Arsenal 2, QPR 0
