Dolph Ziggler vs. Daniel Bryan is a great feud waiting to happen.

They’ve had great matches on free television on Raw and SmackDown. Their matches should be worthy of Match of the Year. But they never really engaged at a pay-per-view.

The only exception is their tag team match at WrestleMania 29. Bryan and Kane defeated Ziggler and Big E Langston to retain the tag titles. The finish came when Bryan made Ziggler tap to the “No Lock” submission.

The next night saw Ziggler cash in his opportunity to become World Heavyweight Champion. If he keeps the title past Extreme Rules, a feud between him and Daniel Bryan should be inevitable.

Both warriors have history and parallels in their careers. Namely, they cashed in their Money in the Bank briefcases to become world champion, the same title Ziggler currently holds. Both also did it with resounding ovations from the crowd.

Both men also used the services of current WWE Diva AJ, who managed both men during their title runs. AJ can factor into their feud just like she did for their tag match at WrestleMania.

Unfortunately, don’t expect this match to happen soon. Ziggler’s got Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger to worry about at Extreme Rules. Bryan and Kane will most likely defend the tag titles at the pay-per-view.

This feud needs time before escalating to this eventual clash. A good start would be the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, an event which will take place in Philadelphia. It’s a great wrestling town with great wrestling history. Just ask the ECW fans who witnessed classics among the hardcore environment.

Last year’s event saw Bryan taking on CM Punk in a classic no-disqualification match. We also saw Ziggler finally winning the briefcase, which would lead to his current title reign. It makes sense for the two men to finally clash, one-on-one on pay-per-view at this event. Plus, it gives time for Bryan to separate from Kane and Ziggler to get a few wins under his belt as champion.

The story is set, and the match is already guaranteed to be a classic encounter. All they need is a stage. Dolph Ziggler vs. Daniel Bryan is a great feud waiting to happen. It may take time, but it’s worth the wait.
