Racism In American Sports Or Reflecting Racist Ideals?

So I was reading a nice article about baseball shortstops, when somebody commented that Ozzie Smith is only in the Hall of Fame (and Allan Trammell is not) is because of the color of his skin. The person who made the comment referenced a website that examines supposed racism in American media.

Here is an excerpt from their "about us" page:
There are no white starting cornerbacks in the NFL out of 64 players who start at that position. In fact, there are no white cornerbacks in the entire league. There are zero starting white tailbacks. No white running back has run for over 1,000 yards in nearly a quarter of a century. Only about five percent of starting wide receivers and safeties are white.

This just seems like outlandish picking and choosing to me. I can also do picking and choosing. The same could be said about other positions in the NFL. There are zero black placekickers in the NFL. What about quarterbacks? There are only five black starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Maybe the people who haven't rushed for a thousand yards haven't because they couldn't, not because of the color of their skin. What about coaches? There are only six NFL black coaches. Disproportionality doesn't just go one way.

The website site continues:
Has this amazing and now permanent disparity in a sport that whites have always loved and played so well come about solely because of "black supremacy" in athleticism? The NFL was integrated racially in the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s and there were plenty of whites then who played all defensive positions and who ran and caught the ball and who excelled at it. It is only since the late 1980s that certain positions in professional football have become for all intents and purposes black only.

Wow. This just is straight up racism. If a white person is talented enough, they will make the position. Reference Jordan Shipley, Matt Jones (drug addict), Kevin Curtis, etc. This excerpt makes it sound like there should have never been racial integration. Should sports exclude non-whites? No. It's not a question of whites being limited, it's a question of who works hard. Hard work is what ensures success.

Going through this website makes me want to vomit over and over again. Here are just a few excerpts:

#1: Maintaining top end speed is aided greatly by the use of steroids. There is no question that the now routine shaving of 100 meter times is due to performance enhancing drugs; the people using them are black athletes.

Yes, because white people and sprinters have never taken steroids.

#2: Better yet, racially conscious whites, especially you who have children, need to switch off sports dominated by non-whites and cultivate an interest in sports still dominated by whites. You need to vocally oppose calls for racial integration and affirmative action in white-dominated sports like NASCAR. But perhaps the most subversive thing you as an individual or a family can do is switch off the tube altogether, get off the couch, and actually have fun while building body, character, and community. A revolution in society begins with a revolution in the heart. Average people need to understand that race is important, and they need to understand it in terms of the things that matter most to them today. One of those things is sports. That is why our enemies have taken them over, and that is why we need to take them back.

Seriously? ENEMIES HAVE TAKEN OVER SPORTS? Wow. So now, all non-whites are enemies to whites. Sounds like the logic of, I don't know, the Holocaust.

#3: The website also claims that there is a black supremacy in sports. So they decide to counter it by advocating white supremacy. They make lists deliberately excluding non-whites, an designate them as the all-league teams. They add players to their lists and exclude players who "might be a quarter black."

Even worse on the website is their forums pages, where they actually let members "vent." Looking through them is even more disgusting than looking at the website. The members bash non-white players any time they do something wrong in sports game. Things like Allen Iverson and Dwyane Wade are overrated are said. Things like "Spencer Hawes and Chris Kaman" are really great are said. These are just objective lies.

This is a racist website. It tries to claim that it is not racist by "celebrating white achievements" in sports. However, the website does a lot more than that. It targets non-whites and explicitly advocates their exclusion from sports. It allows (encourages) members to bash non-whites in their forums. You know a website is racist when it has a ringing endorsement from a white supremacist website. This website is full of garbage and propaganda. The media doesn't control what sports teams do. Owners and management do (not to mention that there are very few non-white owners in professional sports).
