The April 8 edition of WWE Raw may have had one of the most fun crowds in the history of professional wrestling.
For weeks before WrestleMania, the paying customers seemed largely apathetic to what WWE was presenting on its flagship show. They were there live, but didn't seem to care. The night after WrestleMania, though, the fans took over the show.
They hated the babyfaces, cheered on the heels and started some random chants for no apparent reason.
There have been some crazy crowds in Philadelphia, Chicago and Montreal, but perhaps no crowd has ever been so consistently crazy throughout the entire show as this New Jersey one was.
WWE would be wise to listen to the amount of enthusiasm that the crowd displayed and actually learn from it.
While there were a ton of entertaining and bizarre chants during the night, here are the 10 best from Raw:
10. "One more chair! One more chair!"
This was aimed at Big Show after he failed to throw two chairs into the ring.
9. "Same old s---! Same old s---!"
John Cena was the victim of this chant. He was booed mercilessly from the moment he came out, and the crowd tried to politely tell him they want to see something new.
8. "U-S-A! U-S-A!"
The classic USA chant began after Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger led the crowd into joining along. They appeared to be doing it ironically, which made it that much better.
7. "Ole! Ole! Ole!"
This international chant was picked up by the crowd to great effect during the Sheamus and Orton match. It may be most people ever singing "ole" at a wrestling event before.
6. "RVD, RVD!"
The rumors of RVD possibly joining WWE again have made the rounds, and the fans in New Jersey wouldn't have minded seeing him lay out Orton or Sheamus with a 5-Star Frog Splash.
5. "ECW, ECW!"
Extreme championship wrestling may have died a few years ago, but not for this crowd. The memory still lives on strong for fans everywhere.
4. "JBL, JBL!"
The complete randomness of this one was what made it great. JBL looked like he was actually blushing from the sudden burst of attention.
3. "Thank you, Big Show! Thank you, Big Show!"
The crowd showed Big Show their appreciation by putting an end to Sheamus vs. Orton.
2. "Randy Savage! Randy Savage!"
This chant was also heard during the Sheamus vs. Orton match, which seemed to be when the crowd really started to lose it.
1. Humming Fandango's theme song
Hopefully this Fandango chant catches on for a while. That was a pretty ridiculous spectacle watching everyone dance to the theme song of a heel midcarder.
No matter what happens, hopefully WWE can carry this level of energy into the following weeks. It was entertaining, but also at little confusing. At the end of the show, it was honestly hard to tell if Ryback had turned heel since the entire crowd had his back.
It will be interesting to see what the follow-up is, and more importantly, if this crowd can be topped anytime soon.
Any chants I missed? It was hard to hear some of them, so sound off below for the funny ones you caught!
