WWE: WrestleMania 29 Could Be the First Step in Reviving the Divas Division

In the current state of the WWE, the championship belts are becoming more legitimate, the younger Superstars are giving the roster depth and the tag team division is relevant again. However, one thing that still has yet to improve is the Divas division.

Throughout the years, female superstars have played a pretty big role in the company. From Mae Young and the Fabulous Moolah to Trish Stratus and Lita, the Divas have, at times, been just as big as the Superstars.

But in recent years, there has been a sharp decline in the Divas division. The lack of urgency and attention from the WWE and Divas in the company has forced the division to completely fall off the cliff.

Even though Raw has changed from two hours to three, the Divas division is still lucky to get a match that lasts longer than two minutes. We have also seen some of the top Divas, like Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres, leave the company recently.

The division obviously needs reviving and WrestleMania 29 could be a perfect opportunity and the first step in doing that.

Current Divas Champion Kaitlyn does not have a match scheduled for WrestleMania yet. But she has started a feud with AJ Lee. This storyline should at least get a backstage segment and draw some interest.

Trish Stratus is also being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year and will most likely make a small appearance at WrestleMania.

There also are four Divas slated to be in action at the biggest WWE event of the year. They are Naomi and Cameron, from the Funkadactyls, and the Bella Twins. They will be competing in an eight-person mixed tag team match.

The Funkadactyls have accompanied Brodus Clay for over a year, but have barely been in action at all. They were involved in a match against the Bella Twins on Raw and it was actually a pretty entertaining match.

The match showcased the Funkadactyls' athleticism and some unique moves.

If they can continue to be entertaining and impressive in the ring at WrestleMania, they can help show that the Divas need more attention. The appearance of four Divas in one match at WrestleMania will help give their division some exposure and some much-needed depth.

In order for the Divas division to get back to what it used to be, or at least turn around, two things need to happen: The Divas need to step up and the WWE needs to give the Divas the opportunity to step up.

WrestleMania 29 is a perfect opportunity for this. It could be the platform for the rebirth.
