Ovechkin Spies on New York Rangers, May Report for Bleacher Report
It was widely reported today that Washington Capitals superstar Alexander Ovechkin was spying on the New York Rangers practice at Madison Square Garden this morning.
Dressed in shorts and a tee-shirt, Ovechkin sat at the visiting team's bench while the Rangers got ready for their first home game in their series against the Caps, which they now lead two-zip.
He was asked to vacate his up-close seat on the bench this morning as the Rangers began their pregame skate.
SportingNews.com and ESPN.com reported Ovechkin was observing the Rangers' practice when a Rangers trainer complained to the Capitals.
The New York Post reported something about him having "a pen and paper and writing down line combinations."

Dan Rosen of NHL.com reported Ovechkin was "watching intently."
Ovechkin was asked to leave the visiting team's bench but told he could sit in the bleachers. He told reporters he was just trying to make Rangers coach John Tortorella nervous, but I have another theory.
I think the Hart Trophy winner was getting ready for an early start to the offseason and a new vocation as a reporter from the bleachers. He could write for the Bleacher Report and get the team of editors at B/R to help him with his efforts to improve his English.
"I just [wanted] Tortorella [to get ticked] off," Ovechkin was quoted by Dan Steinberg in the Washington Post.
Sports reporters love to quote Ovechkin's broken English, apparently. Writing sports reports might be the best way for a hockey player from Russia to learn English as a second language.
Writing for B/R would give him the fastest editing experience around. B/R editors are awesome!
