Possible 2008-2009 Miami Heat Lineups: Fantasy or Reality?

As many of you already know, the Miami Heat currently have the NBA's worst record at 13-61, but if my Miami Heat fantasies come true, the Heat will turn it around just like the Celtics did this year.

Here is my first dream scenario: First, the Heat win the lottery and draft Michael Beasley. Secondly, they must keep Shawn Marion, and Dwyane Wade needs to make a full recovery for next year. Step three for Miami is they need to bring in a free agent after the season. I’m going to go with Emeka Okafor.

Picture that: Dwayne Wade, Shawn Marion, Michael Beasley, and Emeka Okafor on the court at once. This lineup would be beastly. The only problem in this scenario is the point guard position, but if Marion returns and the Heat win the lottery and get Beasley, I think that Udonis Haslem becomes dispensable and the Heat trade him for a point guard. Sure they have Jason Williams and Marcus Banks but i just don't think either of them will EVER get it done.

Scenario two is similar to my first one. The only difference here is that the Heat don't win the lottery.

If the Heat do not win the lottery but get the second pick, I think everyone knows that they will take Derrick Rose at number two. With this small change happening, we now have Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose, and Shawn Marion, but they still need another piece to the puzzle.

This is where I would like to see the Heat pick up Elton Brand if he makes a full recovery from his injury. If not Brand, Emeka Okafor is still available and now that you have a point guard in Rose we can keep Haslem.

Having Wade, Marion, Rose, Okafor, and Haslem as your starting five sounds pretty good. The only reason why I like scenario one more is because i think Beasley is going to be ridiculously good in the NBA, but only time can tell what is going to happen to the Heat.

I think all Miami Heat fans out there are hoping my Heat fantasies come true.

Interesting thought. They did clear a lot of cap room with the Shaq trade, and if Marion leaves, they will have a lot more cap room. They could definitely get a free agent by using South Beach as an attraction.
