Yes, Angle works for TNA and has been away from all things WWE for six years now. However, he is still a six-time WWE/World champion and definitely left his mark with the company.
Compile that with his "Intensity, Integrity and Intelligence" and you have a megastar that owned a "You Suck" chant like no one else during his WWE tenure.
Overall, at 44, we will probably never see Angle wrestle a full match in the WWE again. However, I wouldn't rule out a one-off Royal Rumble return or Hall of Fame induction. Let's face it, Angle left the company while he was still on top of his game. Sadly, his body is wearing down and he is not the same Angle that he was just a mere two years ago when he was TNA's champion.
Even though Angle is older, he is still able to go in the ring and has realized his place as the guy who is beginning to put younger stars over. Don't get me wrong, he still wins his share of matches, but it seems like his current overall role is to help develop the future of TNA.
This is not a bad thing when you think about it. Ultimately, he could be like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair and continue to cling to a fading spotlight. Instead, he wants to see pro wrestling move past him and forge ahead.
Fortunately, TNA was able to land him while he was still in great shape and still able to help the company gain some mainstream notoriety. In the end, let’s just hope that he calls it quits when his contract ends and continues to be an ambassador for TNA.
