Could a WWE Legends Draft Work?

Here we are once again, less than one week week removed in what has now become an annual event for the WWE. The Draft, followed by the Supplemental Draft.

This year more then ever, the Draft has left many second-guessing the moves, not to mention, how relevant is a Draft when WWE plans to continue to let the wrestlers who are suppose to be exclusive to their brand appear on both Raw and Smackdown.

So after much thinking I have come up with an idea, and extension of the Draft if you will, that I believe would singlehandedly reinvigorate the WWE and its fans.

A WWE draft to bring in WWE legends.
After watching Ricky Steamboat wrestle at Mania and the next night on Raw, I think a WWE Legends Draft would be a huge success.
The payoff could be, after all the Legends are drafted they get to choose one opponent to wrestle one last time at a pay per view. Even if it's a title match.
The drafted legend could be an honorary member of the roster, yet only have to appear one more time on a pay per view.
They could also appear sporadically and wrestle throughout out the year leading up to the match and opponent they choose to wrestle one last time.
WWE is sitting on a gold mine of an idea. Of course they haven't come up with the idea yet.
That's where I come in.
Feel free to make a lot of money WWE off of my idea.
Here's the payoff for the WWE Legends Draft. Imagine a three-hour RAW special where dozens of WWE Legends photo's are featured but only 12 or so are drafted to RAW, Smackdown and ECW total.
Throughout the night these Legends after they are drafted would come out and wave to the crowd, just like WWE draftees do now on RAW.
Even if WWE showed 40 Legends on the film, graphics, they would only have to fly out the 12 they knew in advance are being drafted.
Now imagine a special Pay Per View where these Legends cash in there guaranteed match they they received when they got drafted. The Guaranteed match that the Legend gets is cashed in during the Legends Pay Per View.
Whoever the Legends picks to wrestle for their farewell match, the opponent must wrestle. No Exceptions; they can't back out of the match. Even if it's a title match.
Imagine the possibilities.
Ricky Steamboat getting a title match one last time.
It'd be like a Rocky Movie. Or Hogan getting drafted to Raw and picking Cena as his opponent. Flair and Dusty Rhodes choosing each other for one final match.
Imagine this WWE Legends Pay Per View that mixes former WWE stars/legends with the current roster. Remember the Legends gets to pick the match and opponent. So they could pick a current WWE star to wrestle or even another former star, say to settle an old score.
I know my idea is a pipe dream, but think about it.
It would make WWE millions. Fans everywhere would eat this up. And The Legends get one more moment to relive their glory years.
WWE wouldn't have to sign the Legend to a long term contract. Seeing it would be one match. WWE could simply pay the Legend by giving him a cut of the buyrates for the pay per view or a lump sum.
Well, let me know what you all think of the idea.
In the meantime, I guess were all reduced to having to play Legends Of Wrestlemania.
A Wrestling fan can dream though, I guess.
