Yes, as anyone who watched tonight's WWE Raw will know, Nikki and Brie Bella are back after nearly a year away from America's No. 1 wrestling promotion.

Per WWE storylines, the two were fired on-screen back in May by then-assistant general manager Eve Torres in a WWE.com exclusive segment. Yes: Heel Eve was on a power trip and the twins unwittingly crossed her. Oops. Not a good idea, girls.

In real life, of course, things weren't nearly so dramatic. Indeed, in a lengthy and informative interview with women's wrestling site Diva-Dirt shortly after their departure, the pair noted they had simply tired of the grueling road schedule and felt like they desperately needed a break. It was understandable.

They also told the site that they had left on very good terms and expected to be back at some point .

Considering how many women had already left the company, this was quite the blow to an already struggling women's division. Many wondered just how many Divas the company could lose before it decided to scrap the division altogether.

In their time away from WWE the girls kept themselves very busy: Under their real names of Garcia, the duo picked up roles in movies and did the rounds on the wrestling convention circuit (via Diva-Dirt). They also worked with company Celebrity Sweat for a fitness video.

Interestingly, for all you fans of gossip, it also emerged in November of last year that Nikki was in a relationship with former WWE champion John Cena (via TMZ) after pictures of the two attending a high school reunion showed up online.

Well, the two shockingly returned to WWE this evening when they appeared in a backstage skit with Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes and Divas champion Kaitlyn.

They claimed they returned because the division needed them and, hey, considering how thin the women's roster has been in WWE, this isn't exactly a lie.

They also commented later on Twitter.

Wow. The girls' return was, for many, a major shock. Usually word leaks out about potential returns, but not this time.

Well, it will certainly be interesting to see what the siblings do in their second stint in the company.

As noted, it's good that that there are finally some extra women on Raw again.

Oh, sure, neither of them are great wrestlers, but the division needs all the help it can get right now. Judging by this evening's events, they seem headed for a potential program with Kaitlyn, which should give the Divas champion something to do, if nothing else.
