Denver Nuggets Coach George Karl Shoves Wilson Chandler After Terrible Call

No one is safe when Mount Karl blows.

Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl required a small vanguard of assistants to keep him from getting into it with referees during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday.

Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson was hit with an offensive foul after a minor collision with the Timberwolves’ Ricky Rubio. The incident appeared to be a Grade D certified flop on Rubio’s part, and the decision sent Karl into a Dante’s Peak-like eruption, complete with collateral damage.

Karl stormed onto the court yelling what appeared to be a fine string of choice verbiage at officials, swatting aside anyone and everyone who came between him and his quarry.

At one point, Karl pushed Wilson Chandler out of the way—because that’s what happens when you step in front of a charging bull.

Assistants were eventually able to rein the coach in, but not before Karl was hit with a shiny little technical for his on-court antics.

Chandler, on the other hand, seemed to find the incident hilarious, tweeting:

“About to dress up in all black and catch George Karl outside. Putting his hands on me like he about that life lol” (Via @wilsonchandler)

The Nuggets went on to blow out the Timberwolves 111-88, and fortunately no one was merc’d and/or had their life taken as a result of the shove.
