The first prelim fight just ended with Shingo Kahara defeating Jeremy Tavares in the second round.
We will have live updates throughout the evening.
The Internet connection here is really slow right now. Hopefully it will pick up before the main card starts.
Tito Ortiz just walked by on his way to cageside. He is nicely attired in a suit.
Royce Gracie is also here and actor, Channing Tatum. Tatum is starring in a movie with Strikeforce champion, Cung Le called "Fighting."
James Terry just defeated Zac Bucia by unanimous decision.
The next fight is between Raul Castillo and Brandon Michaels. Castillo's friends and family are right to my left and screaming loudly for him.
The Internet connection is absolutely horrible here. I apologize for the delays in updating.
Castillo defeated Michaels and Eric Lawson defeated Wayhlon Kennell in a very exciting fight by TKO in the second round.
Brett Rogers defeated Abongo Humphrey in the second round by TKO. It was a good stand-up fight.
Rogers grabbed Humphrey's hair a few times.
After the fight, Rogers said the deduction in a point for pulling Humphrey's hair did not faze him.
Rogers said "I knew I was going to get him. I had him dazed and when it got to the second round, every strike was hurting his soul."
Cyborg Santos defeated Hitomi Akano by TKO. This was a total mismatch.
Right now it is Benji Radach vs. Scott Smith and this is a candidate for Fight of the Night. What a slugfest we are having right now through two rounds.
Radach might have the upper hand in the judges's cards right now.
Here are some quotes from Cyborg Santos after her victory.
"I really was very calm and felt very comfortable in the cage and that is why I took longer than everyone thought. When I felt it was time, I went for the knockout."
As far as Gina Carano, Santos said, "I really think it's time for me to fight Gina Carano but I am not rushing it. I want to prove that I can beat Gina."
I apologize for not updating after the Radach/Smith fight. The Internet connection was not working at all inside the HP Pavilion.
Overall, the fights were very exciting and Strikeforce put on a great show once again for the fans in San Jose, and also the fans watching at home on Showtime.
