Canadiens' coach Bob Gainey said that there is a "good possibility" that Mathieu Schneider will be in the line-up for tonight's game against the Bruins. Schneider participated in the morning skate at TD Banknorth Garden.

Schneider met with doctors in New York City to examine his torn rotator cuff. It seems that season-ending surgery will be postponed for now.

It may be the kind of injury that he can't make any worse, although he will be limited in how he can contribute. It will also be a pain management issue.

Schneider and Yannick Weber, who was called up from Hamilton yesterday, were paired in the morning skate and are expected to play together on the first wave of the power-play.

Schneider, himself, will make the decision before game time.

If he does play, Schneider will be used for his play-making ability and as setup guy for Weber's big shot. Weber has a laser from the point which is both hard and accurate. It will be a tough position for Weber going into Boston with huge expectations.

At the very least, the Canadiens should get an emotional boost if Schneider is in the lineup tonight.
