WWE WrestleMania 29: 6 Superstars Who Should Face the Undertaker

When the gong hit at a house show recently, WWE fans around the world learned that The Undertaker is back.
It remains to be seen if the dead man will appear on Raw Monday night or WrestleMania 29, but his house show appearance is making everyone talk.
The speculation can begin that John Cena will defeat CM Punk on Raw and go on to face The Rock for the WWE title at the show of shows.
This would allow CM Punk to challenge The Undertaker’s streak. However, those of you who read my articles should know that I have always been against the CM Punk and Undertaker idea.
Therefore, here are six other ideas as opponents for The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29.

Wade Barrett should be considered to face The Undertaker at this year’s WrestleMania. Barrett has not been featured much since winning the Intercontinental title.
He had been feuding with NXT newcomer Bo Dallas, but the angle seems to have been dropped. Barrett wasn’t at WWE Elimination Chamber 2013 at all and Dallas hasn’t been seen in weeks.
Barrett was expected to be the next up-and-coming WWE Superstar. This would make him a suitable candidate to face The Undertaker and challenge the streak.
While Dallas could still get a shot at the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania, The Undertaker has never held the championship. The dead man needs that title in order to be a Triple Crown winner.

Sheamus has become a top WWE Superstar and babyface in the company since winning the World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania 28.
However, since losing the title to Big Show, Sheamus hasn’t achieved much. He usually wins on Raw and SmackDown against Superstars such as 3MB and Damien Sandow. Pay-per-view hasn’t been as good to the Celtic Warrior, though.
Challenging The Undertaker and his streak could put Sheamus back in World Title contention. Sheamus may not end the streak, but if he puts on a memorable match like The Undertaker has with Triple H and Shawn Michaels recently, Sheamus could get another push.

Although John Cena is already scheduled to face The Rock for the WWE title at WrestleMania 29, Cena is someone who could end the streak.
Cena could have given up his World Title opportunity to challenge The Undertaker at WrestleMania. The last time Cena won the Royal Rumble match, in 2008, he cashed in his opportunity at the February pay-per-view instead of WrestleMania.
There has been a huge debate among WWE fans on whether or not The Undertaker’s streak will ever be broken. If it does end, WWE would have to choose a huge name to get the honor, and there is no bigger name than John Cena.

Brock Lesnar, like The Undertaker, is a part-time wrestler and is expected to have a match at WrestleMania 29.
While I am not a huge fan of part-time wrestlers in general, I find matches where both wrestlers are part-time to be even more pointless.
If Lesnar were to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania, there is no way he would win. Not that anyone on this list would, but definitely not Brock Lesnar.
Lesnar is likely to face Triple H at the show of shows, but perhaps Mr. McMahon will enlist The Undertaker to take care of Lesnar instead. Triple H was not able to get the job done at SummerSlam, giving McMahon reason to choose someone else to defend the boss.

Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have been destroying everyone in their path to the top of WWE.
Most recently, The Shield was able to defeat the top babyfaces in the company, including John Cena once and Sheamus and Ryback twice.
Who could stop The Shield?
Whether it is in a three-on-one handicap match, gauntlet match or with two Superstars in a six-man tag match, The Undertaker could face The Shield for the first time.
ProWrestlingPowerhouse.com’s Jersey Strong Jay wrote an article in January suggesting that The Undertaker defend his streak against The Shield.
The match would help continue to build the portfolios of Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns.
Jay suggested Triple H and Shawn Michaels join The Undertaker’s team, but don’t be surprised if it is Ryback and Sheamus.

Speaking of Ryback, perhaps the Big Hungry will face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29.
Ryback has been on a pay-per-view losing streak and needs to get back on track.
He may be turning heel at some point, and it could lead to a challenge of The Undertaker’s streak. It doesn’t seem wise, as he would not likely end the streak. However, defeating the Undertaker at WrestleMania would certainly push Ryback back into the main event scene.
Ryback has had his difficulty with The Shield as of late, and although it seems more likely that Ryback would enlist The Undertaker to help him against The Shield, the Big Hungry may choose to try to make a name for himself instead.
Other than CM Punk, who do you think should face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29? Please leave your suggestions, ideas and thoughts in the section below.
