Well, it appears the WWE has its hands full, as a rumored match has been thrown to the wayside.
You may recall, about six months ago fans witnessed the pairing of Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio. From the outside, is seemed like the two were thrown together in order to help a struggling Sin Cara acclimate to the WWE.
Apparently the plan was to have the duo break up down the line and go head-to-head at this year’s 'Mania.
Chances are, it would have been a throwaway match, as the company was attempting to set a world record for the most masks worn at one place at the same time.
That being said, it now appears that these two will no longer be squaring off at "The Granddaddy of Them All."
According to F4WOnline.com, WWE had planned Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara for WrestleMania this year; however those plans have been scrapped.
To me, this match was doomed from the start. Let's face it; both men are seriously injury-prone, making it a real long shot for one, let alone both to go into the match healthy. Keep in mind, both stars are currently on a limited work schedule.
Cara just recently returned from an injury and Mysterio has only been making sporadic appearances for a few months now. Overall, I have to wonder if either will have a spot at WrestleMania. Ultimately, neither is feuding with anyone and it doesn’t seem like the WWE has anything for them.
In the end, the company has some big holes to fill and less than six weeks to pull it off. So, it will be interesting to see what the creative team can pull off in a limited amount of time.
