WWE Elimination Chamber 2013: 5 Reasons Why the Rock Will Smash CM Punk

The WWE is nearing its final stop on the 2013 Road to WrestleMania. WWE's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view has become one of the most important shows of the year as the last pay-per-view before WrestleMania.
This year's Chamber will give the WWE Universe a pretty good idea of what's to come at WrestleMania 29, and one of the most important encounters is the WWE Championship match between The Rock and CM Punk.
Punk Rock II is going to be another great match, but unfortunately for CM Punk fans, it will once again end with the People's Champion raising the WWE Championship.
1. Rock vs Cena II

The WWE hasn't been quiet about their desire to run back the Once in a Lifetime match between John Cena and The Rock. Once John Cena won the Royal Rumble and The Rock beat CM Punk, it became pretty obvious that the WWE Universe would get to watch the Cenation commander in chief against the proprietor of the Smackdown Hotel for the second year in a row—this time for the title.
For the WWE to have that match, which, in their defense, will be a huge moneymaker, The Rock has to beat CM Punk at Elimination Chamber.
Cena's Royal Rumble victory gave him a title shot against the WWE champion, which means Rock Punk II can only end one way: the Rock wins.
2. Bigger Plans for CM Punk

When CM Punk fanboys (me included) saw Cena win the Royal Rumble, their first thoughts might have been negative, but let's look at it in a more positive way: If the WWE is going to kill all of Punk's momentum at the top of the business before WrestleMania, it must have been for a great reason.
CM Punk's name has been thrown around as the man who will have the honor to face the Undertaker (assuming Undertaker can compete), which would be a huge honor for any Superstar in all of professional wrestling.
Even if Punk doesn't get to face Taker, there are still some amazing possibilities for the Second-City Saint at WrestleMania 29 that don't involve him holding the WWE Championship.
Ryback may be open, there are a ton of opportunities for the WWE to sketch up a Lesnar-Punk feud and all of the other major Superstars without a match yet, like Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus and Randy Orton.
While CM Punk as WWE champ was one of the most entertaining parts of WWE programming in recent history, there are still a lot of opportunities for the WWE to find a great match for him at WrestleMania 29.
3. The Rock Is on a Comeback

The WWE has made a habit of bringing former WWE Superstars back for a few months at a time. We've seen them do this with Triple H on a number of occasions along with Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels and now Brock Lesnar and The Rock.
While some of the others haven't been entirely successful during their comebacks (Lesnar especially), The Rock has already snagged the business' most prolific title.
The Rock is back and badder than ever and isn't going to drop the strap after just a few weeks as champ, especially when the WWE is so close to WrestleMania 29.
Speaking of WrestleMania 29...
4. Mania Is Just Around the Corner

It's right around the corner. The Chamber is WWE's last big event before "The Show of Shows."
WrestleMania is the WWE's biggest event of the year and starts taking shape around Royal Rumble and sets up the major feuds during and shortly after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
The Rock has to beat CM Punk because the WWE isn't going to make a major change to the main-title picture just a month before the "Granddaddy of Them All." CM Punk had a title reign over 430 days. There aren't any reasons that the WWE would take the strap off him and give it back a few weeks later as the WWE gets ready for their holding pattern before Mania.
5. Punk Can Put Him over

One of the biggest reasons The Rock will keep the championship is simple. Punk can make him look good.
CM Punk is one of the best workers in the WWE and he can hang with the best in the ring. Punk has proven in matches with Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler that he can sell moves and make guys look good, and on Sunday, he'll be selling for one of the WWE's best ever.
One of the big knocks against The Rock versus Cena at WrestleMania 28 was that the Rock looked out of breath and a little rusty. As we saw at Royal Rumble, Punk and Rock can put on a great match and Punk can make the Rock look great, even if he is a little tired or feeling a bit of ring rust.
