Football players and cheerleaders dating in high school is considered the norm, but athletes dating models is so common these days, you have to wonder if half of these relationships are for real.

Tom Brady recently married Gisele Bundchen, Tiger Woods married model Elin Nordegren, and the list goes on forever.

David Wright is rumored to be in a serious relationship with Ford model Molly Beers, and her best friend and fellow Ford Model, Sabina Gadecki, is dating David Lee of the Knicks. The four frequently double date.

There is a pattern of hot guys and beautiful women who show no apparent common interests, so you have to wonder if these women are after these famous and hot guys for love or their money.  I realize that models are well compensated and possibly make more than the athletes but most do not until they reach a certain level, in that way, the athletes and models are on the same wavelength.

Wives and girlfriends of professional athletes have to deal with their men being gone for weeks at a time—at least six months a year—staying in hotels where a beautiful woman could be right next door. Exclusive relationships are hard to come by with all of the temptations available.

They also have to deal with helping to heal any injuries, aches, and pains that the athletes suffer and asa models have very different schedules and priorities than most women, lack of support can take its toll on a relationship.

I am by no means saying that there is no true love in these relationships, but it is interesting that more athletes do not date or marry the "girl next door" type as often as they date beautiful models and actresses.
