After singing the national anthem at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, Alicia Keys will now be the halftime performer at the 62nd-annual NBA All-Star Game in Houston on Feb. 17, according to Jason Lipshutz of Billboard.com.
This girl is certainly on fire.
It's been a successful 2013 for Keys. Besides being asked to perform at two of the biggest sporting events in the country, she was also dubbed Global Creative Director of BlackBerry (h/t Lipshutz).
The R&B superstar is coming off another No. 1 debut album and is sure to put on a memorable performance for NBA fans in Houston.
Which performer are you most excited to see?
Lipshutz also reports that John Legend will perform the national anthem and Ne-Yo will be featured during player introductions. Sunday's game will be shown live on TNT.
Fall Out Boy—who recently reunited—will play when the slam dunk and three-point contests kick off the night before for the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night.
Also making appearances at the Toyota Center will be Ellie Goulding and Phillip Phillips, and Nick Cannon is slated to host Saturday's festivities.
The NBA will be catering to a slightly different audience this All-Star Weekend, as last year saw rapper Pitbull perform.
If Keys brings the same passion and performance to Houston that she delivered to New Orleans in Super Bowl XLVII, NBA fans are in for a real treat.
