This year’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view has the opportunity to make history by featuring the first tag team chamber match in history.
If we do in fact see a tag team chamber match, who will be involved?
There could be as many as two tag team chamber matches, actually.
The Shield vs. John Cena and Two Others
The first involves The Shield against John Cena and two others. Those other Superstars could be Ryback and Sheamus, but we have seen Randy Orton get attacked and involved with The Shield as well.
The Shield has been attacking John Cena, which makes sense because there are many who believe his Rumble win was unjust. At the same time, his WrestleMania plans are set, giving him practically nothing to do at Elimination Chamber.
John Cena should be joined by Ryback because he has had The Shield’s number for a while now. Ryback has yet to get rid of The Shield because they cost him the WWE title as recently as the first Raw of 2013.
Ryback was also not involved with the chamber match Booker T was setting up on SmackDown. This leads me to believe Ryback will join Cena.
The final spot could go to Orton or Sheamus. Based on what we saw on SmackDown, it seems as though one or both Superstars will be in a chamber match for the No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight championship.
Sheamus has suffered more attacks by The Shield, giving him the favorite to join Ryback and Cena.
Tag Team Title Chamber Match
The other tag team chamber match that we could see would involve the tag team titles.
It remains to be seen if the match actually comes to fruition because Team Hell No members Kane and Daniel Bryan may be the aforementioned match.
However, if WWE decides to have Kane and Bryan defend their titles, it could be a four-way tag team match. The other tag teams would be Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara, Primo and Epico and the Usos.
This past week on SmackDown, Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara defeated Team Hell No, proving that they may be the next tag team to challenge for the titles.
The break-up of Team Rhodes Scholars (as a team, not friends) signals that Team Hell No needs new challengers.
If WWE decides to be a little more creative (no pun intended) than usual, then they can have Team Hell No defend the titles against three teams.
The Usos and Primo and Epico don’t reach a lot of success in the WWE, but they always provide quality matches. The Usos especially are very underrated and definitely deserve a title shot.
While the tag team title match is a long shot, The Shield, John Cena and others could provide us with the first tag team match in Elimination Chamber history.
Should WWE book the tag team title match?
Who should join John Cena to take down The Shield?
The last time Cena was trying to get rid of a faction in WWE, it was Nexus.
Could Cena end The Shield and force the three young Superstars to go their separate ways?
