Shawn Micheals- Heartbreak Kid To Heartbroken, Why He Should Quit Now

I am a huge fan of Shawn Michaels. However, I got an email from Bleacher Report asking me to write an article about an aging athlete and Michaels came to mind.

I think his Sweet Chin Music is the best finisher in the business today. However, I feel really bad when I see him chest slapping opponents and acting stiff. He is starting to fight like an older superstar and this is my analysis and opinion about his current situation.

Shawn Michaels riles up the crowd every single time he steps out. That is why he must quit before he becomes a relic.

Do you remember the Wrestlemania 24 match with Ric Flair? HBK did a great job but, without a doubt, Ric Flair really dragged down the show. I love Ric Flair but old wrestlers shouldn't come out unless they will do something great. Otherwise, they will become like Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka, and Ricky Steamboat who get their presence acknowledged but not really loved.

I love HBK too much to let him suffer that fate. He will be laughed out of the ring.

I hope that Michaels can quit with his head held high after a great match, after WrestleMania. Michaels can then join the Hall of Fame and come out occasionally and still be applauded.

Now before you get angry, there is another alternative: If Shawn Michaels was given a legitimate title reign it would solve a lot of problems.

Michaels is getting bounced from feud to feud like a ping-pong ball. If he were to capture his sixth World Championship (first in seven long years) then he could really keep himself away from the bad fights that make HBK look old.

Maybe if he grabbed the Intercontinental Championship and held it for at least five months he would boost the value of the belt, himself, and keep himself in the spotlight.

I love Micheals but he has had no gold for a long time. It is important that he gets a championship. I hate that such a great performer doesn't get any gold. Micheals is 21-year WWE veteran with only six World Championship reigns if I'm correct. 

Edge has a lot more than that and he has only been on World Championship match level for two years.

WWE please save HBK. Everyone will be grateful.
