Kyle Orton: A Better Player Than Jay Cutler

Kyle Orton had five games in which his rating was better than Jay Cutler, while Cutler had three games where his rating was better.

Five to Three:Orton wins.

On top of that, Cutler got a rating in the 70's while playing teams that were not know for their defense (Saints, Jaguars, Buccaneers...and if you stretch it maybe Patriots).

Orton was a good QB before his injury. He finally got over his injury and will play better than ever.

Also the terms to the deal were too great. The bears could have patched up their defense with the first and third round picks.

Cutler doesn't have the leadership that Orton had either. Cutler's success has gotten to his head.

Everybody says that Cutler is a good QB because he was in the Pro Bowl.

Chicago bears linebacker Brian Urlacher said he isn’t bothered about not making the Pro Bowl because it’s ”a popularity contest” and admitted he doesn’t always vote for the player who deserves it the most."

"If people like you, they’re going to vote for you,” Urlacher said. ”That’s all there is to it. As a player, I vote for guys I like, not necessarily guys who have good years. If there’s a center who’s going to keep Olin Kreutz out of the Pro Bowl, I won’t vote for him. I don’t know if all teams do that, but that’s the way I do it.

”I think I played pretty solid this year,” he said. ”I didn’t have any sacks, but I didn’t have any sacks in 2006 and I was first-team All-Pro. Go figure. Last year I had five picks and five sacks and didn’t make the Pro Bowl."

That goes to show you that the title of making pro bowl speaks nothing of his ability, just his popularity.
