Arsenal Transfers: 3 Players Gunners May Still Look to Offload in January

Mikhail TurnerJun 7, 2018

The transfer window comes to a close next week and Arsenal will be looking to perform some last-minute action in the January window.

After the 5-1 win against West Ham, Arsene Wenger said he had some work to do in the transfer market and that may include letting some more players leave.(via Arsenal.com)

Marouane Chamakh and the underused Johan Djourou have already left the club on loan deals in January.

They have joined other players with little to no future at the club such as Denilson and Nicklas Bendtner.

There are a few Arsenal players who haven't performed in recent times and aren't important members of the side.

Here are three players the Gunners are likely to offload in January.

Andre Santos

Andre Santos has been one of the poorer performers for Arsenal this season.

The Brazilian left-back has appeared 10 times for the club this season and showed that he's not a suitable replacement for Kieran Gibbs.

When the young Arsenal defender was out for an extended Arsenal Santos was the worst defender on the field for the Gunners.

The Gunners need a more reliable presence to push Kieran Gibbs or replace him in the starting lineup.

Santos was linked by the Daily Mail a move back to Galatasaray and the Metro reported on interest in the player from Brazlian club Sao Paulo.

Andrey Arshavin

Andrey Arshavin's career at Arsenal never blossomed like many hoped it would.

After a scintillating start with the club midway through the 2008-09 season his stock has fallen.

Interestingly enough, the Russian attacker was pretty productive for the club in the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons as well.

He fell down the pecking order last season with the arrival of Gervinho and performances of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

This season Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski have served to make playing time even more sparse for Arshavin.

He has 11 appearances for the club so far this season, with the majority coming in substitute roles.

Arshavin was a rumoured target for Reading in the Daily Mail but as reported by Sky Sports Royals manager Brian McDermott doubts a deal will occur.

He's also been linked by the Daily Mail with a move back to his old club Zenit St. Petersburg.

Sebastian Squillaci

If there's one player Arsenal fans want to see the back of it's Sebastien Squillaci.

One solitary performance this season sums up Squillaci's Arsenal career thus far, poor.

Injuries and poor performances have littered the French defender's career with the London club.

The Mirror reports that Squillaci is a target for Monaco
