Head coach Dan Mullen juggled hosting a coaching clinic for 250 coaches and putting his Bulldogs through a workout on Thursday. The Bulldogs practiced in shells and helmets outdoors before being forced indoors by the threat of bad weather.

Mullen seemed to be pleased with his team's effort. After the practice Mullen said, “We were able to get some good work done today. We seem to be picking it up, and the effort was really good.”

The Bulldogs will practice again today. On Saturday, the team will participate in a practice with a number of scrimmage-like sessions.

Mullen is also attempting to generate more fan interest in the Bulldogs' spring game. The game will be part of a larger "Super Bulldog Weekend," with events on campus during the course of the weekend.

Some extra bells and whistles are being added to the spring game itself, such as hosting student games during halftime, and allowing one winner to assist in coaching one of the teams—including drafting the team's players and providing a pregame speech.

The winner of the coaching competition will be determined by an online auction.
