Mason is Puerto Rico Bound

They will be joined by some familiar foes down south. They are the Dayton Flyers, Kansas State Wildcats, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Villanova Wildcats, UAB Blazers, Indiana Hoosiers and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Mason played Dayton the past two season, with each team winning at their home arenas. Dayton advanced to the 2nd-round of the NCAA Tournament last month, defeating the West Virginia Mountaineers 68-60 in Minneapolis. Dayton finished 27-8, 11-5 in the A-10 conference.

Mason defeated the #20 Kansas State Wildcats 87-77 on Thanksgiving Day 2007 in the first-round of the Old Spice Classic in Orlando. This year KSU went 22-12, 9-7 in the Big 12. They lost to San Diego State in the NIT 2nd round.

The following night, Mason fell to Villanova 84-76 in the Old Spice semi-finals. This season has been a great year for the Wildcats and it is not over yet. Last weekend, 'Nova defeated the East's top-seeded Pittsburgh Panthers on a Scotty Reynolds floater with .5 to go to advance to this weekend's Final Four in Detroit. They are currently 30-7, and finished 13-5 in the Big East (4th).

Mason played Mississippi State in the 2005 and 2006 season. The home teams won each time --Mason took a 63-59 decision in Fairfax in December 2006. The Bulldogs finished the season 23-13, won the SEC Tournament, before losing to the Washington Huskies 71-58 in the 1st-round of the Big Dance.

Mason and Indiana only met one time in school history, with the sole meeting being in the 1st-round of the 1989 NCAA Tournament. Bobby Knight and the Hoosiers won 99-85. Mason and the UAB Blazers have also only met one time at the Birmingham Classic 61-60 in 1984. Mason and Georgia Tech have never met in school history.

The games take place November 19-22 with every team guaranteed to play three games.
