Alicia Keys is promising the moment before the Super Bowl kicks off will be a must-see event as she teases quite the National Anthem.

All of the fine little details that will come with the splendor that is the Super Bowl seem to be falling into place.

Commercials will begin leaking to the consuming masses and specifics on the entertainment will also tease and tantalize for the next couple of weeks. The latest is Alicia Keys plan to make the Star-Spangled Banner all her own.

Jerry Penacoli of EXTRA was able to land a brief interview with the singer who plans to wow the world to open the festivities on February 3.

Keys was there to promote her film, “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,” but told Penacoli she’s excited about singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on February 3. She winked, “Wait till you hear this one.”

She was pressed further and offered, "You’ll see. I’m gonna do it in a way that only I can do." You can find listings in your area for EXTRA's air times here

As for the National Anthem, we have seen the amazing and the absolute awful, so nothing would really shock us at this point.

Keys, no doubt has a handle on this and recently performed for President Barack Obama's Inauguration. We are both hopeful and a little terrified at the possibilities.

The moment someone steps eagerly to the edge of imagination with a song so well-known and beloved, they invite disaster.

Still, my favorite rendition of the National Anthem was performed by Marvin Gaye in only the way he could deliver it.

So we say good luck and cross our fingers that this is indeed something far different from anything we have heard and that it stacks up to expectations.

It must be nerve racking to try something new when the entire world watches, and so we applaud her for the future attempt.
