Chris Johnson Gets 10-Day Contract, Puts on Show, Draws 'MVP' Chants
The Minnesota Timberwolves took down the Houston Rockets, 92-79, on a night in which they saw two players who just signed 10-day contracts combine for nearly 40 minutes.
Chris Johnson (not the football player) and Mickael Gelabale combined for 26 points and 10 rebounds, both of whom were on D-League teams less than 24 hours before joining the Timberwolves.
Of the two, it was Johnson who really put on a show, getting his scoring kicked off in the second quarter with this big alley-oop from J.J. Barea. He scored just two points through three quarters, but finished off with 13 in the fourth, including a second alley-oop.
