NHL, NHL Northeast, NHL Northwest, NHL Pacific, Vancouver Canucks, Roberto Luongo, Trevor Linden, fetus

Where was Bobby Lou when the Canucks were a better team? Oh yeah, Florida!

When the Canucks had the powerhouse line of Naslund Morrison Bertuzzi, we were lucky enough to have Dan Cloutier as our starter. That team seemed  was so much more balanced than the current squad.

There are some holes that Mr. Nonis didn't address. Because of the Canucks' inconsistent play, it's really starting to show how fragile this team is. Great games are played when teams show up with big time energy, hits, and plays. The boys seem to be suffering from some sort of hangover. Perhaps the team has truly figured out that it is a one line team, but which line is it?

Canucks supporters don't hold your breath. Personally, the way the Leafs are playing with so much desperation and passion, it is way more entertaining to watch (OUCH!!!). If the Canucks make the playoffs can we really look beyond the 1st round?

I cannot and will not use the injury excuse because all teams suffer lost man games and the Canucks have done pretty well in keeping their playoff hopes alive. If Coach V sits Linden in the playoffs you know that something's up. The man is a point a game in the playoffs and always brings his "A" game when it counts. PLAY HIM PLAY HIM PLAY HIM!!!

Bieksa is "CALF" the man he used to be. Coming back early from that big time cut has really hurt Kevin. Look at his play and he looks like a drunk version of Brian McCabe out there. I MISS MATT COOKE!!!! Can this team get on a roll? Doubt it. Can they make it past the first round? Doubt it.

Naslund and Cooke for Jokinen would have been mint, but young GM Nonis didn't budge and now it shows that we need a second line.

Now to the topic I know I'll get mail about (hopefully). Everyone knows the NHL stands for "No Home Life" but when people's families are a distraction, they should keep it low key or send the player home if it's that worrysome. I'm a parent three times over and there is no more anxious times in a man's life than when he's becoming a father. But when it becomes news on the sportspage or on TV, it's a distraction. Pick one or the other, Roberto.

I wouldn't have let anyone know about it so we don't have Mike Milbury saying something sarcastic about Mrs. Luongo. If there are complications ,then be there, don't play if you're not focused. I know more about this pregnancy than I did my wife's.

I hope I'm not coming across as heartless because that is not my intent. I just feel that the distractions of this pregnancy are becoming more and more prevelant. Here's a notice to all the young Canuck studs... Plan your families around your schedule, have your kids in the summer and name them Stanley. I love my boys till death do we part, so get in there and get dirty in the second season. Keep that prayer circle going...

  1. Very funny.... loved your take and I feel your pain Sithwilly ...
interesting advice re: family planning... don't know if the wives will buy in,
kills the spontaneity. One used to think the Canucks were unstoppable...guess this season proves they're just plain human.

  3. Liked your article, the question I have is why didn't Luongo's wife moved here long ago? Doesn't seem to me he's very commited to Vancouver!!! He's making enough money that he should be able to afford to move his wife's family here if that's the issue!

    1. The doctor wanted his wife to be in florida because she was high risk. If she was not in florida with all the specialists, they could have lost their baby!

  4. i'm prety sure she's a yank and wants the dual citizenship thang for the little stopper. Plus we should always remember that the USA's medical system is far superior too ours up here in the great white north. I mean I was born in an igloo like the rest of us with no electricity or running water!!!!
