In this regular feature I will be selecting the best quotes of the race weekend and at the end of the season I will pick the best ten.

However I think I already have the number one when Martin Whitmarsh stated that the McLaren was suffering a “Performance Shortfall.”

Any way a pick of the quotes from Melbourne.

Thursday Press Conference

Massa on being asked about driving alongside Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari:

"I drove alongside Michael (Schumacher), I drove alongside Kimi (Raikkonen) and I've heard for some time that Fernando (Alonso) will come to Ferrari, he (Hamilton) is just another one, I don't care... (MotoGP champion) Valentino Rossi as well and maybe my father will drive for Ferrari next year."

Friday Press Conference

Fernando Alonso on being asked about his first day:

“I think I'm happy, but I could be happier.”

Question: (Chris Creswell - Herald Sun) I've just been reading your diary, Sébastien, it's very funny. Did you really get your Toblerone chocolates taken off you by the customs?

Sebastian Buemi: No, it was a joke.

Q: (Chris Creswell - Herald Sun) And that $350 taxi fare was a joke too?

SB: Yup.

Lewis when asked about his Mclaren MP4-24:

"In general it is a good car, it is just general lack of grip everywhere pretty much."

Mark Webber when asked about his second practice performance:

Question: Do you think you can do it again tomorrow?

Mark Webber: No.

Q: Why not?

MW: Because other people will go faster, I think.

Post Race

Mark Webber on being hit in the first corner:

"All the people come to see you at your home track, you're hoping for a good race for them, and that happens on the first lap...These things (cars) don't do demolition derbies too well."

Jenson Button on winning:

"The way I'm feeling is like yesterday but times 100!"
