The Worst Kind of Heartbreaker

Is it just me, or was this game the kind of heart-breaker no one wants to see.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on the Wildcats for this win, because they deserved it, badly, but it's not the big ending I wanted to see. I'm sorry to say, but I have to classify it as an epic fail.

Now my bracket didn't have Pitt winning the whole thing, but it did have them in the Final Four, as did everyone else in the world that knows anything about college basketball.

Heck, I didn't even have Villanova getting into the Sweet 16, but they fought hard and they deserve being in the Final Four (fluke or no fluke). UNC will handle them though, you can count on it!

My bracket's already pretty much busted (thank you Louisville and UNC for being alive (so far)), so I wanted this game to end with a bang. Obviously, a Pitt win would have been nice.

I mean besides my friend, who has to be the only person in the world to feel this way, how can anyone not love a team with a guy like Levance Fields. If that doesn't do it for you, don't forget about Dajuan Blair and Sam Young, I mean this is a team that can ball!

But Pitt has been struggling this tourney, and even as a No. 3 seed, I think Nova has been the tournament's current Cinderella, so this match was going to be close, and it was. It came down to the final shot.

So with a minute to go in the game, Pitt was was facing defeat, but they didn't let that faze them. Even with five seconds left on the clock, after a risky (and stupid) play by Villanova, my man Levance Fields was sent to the free-throw line. At 70 percent for anyone else, I wouldn't have been so confident, but it was Levance after all!

Just as I expected, the man had ice in his veins; he sank both shots. So with the game tied in probably one of the best games of the big dance so far, Scottie Reynolds takes the ball down the court, running by what looks like the whole Pitt team, puts up a circus shot, (less Ringling brothers, more Cirque du Soleil) and it goes in.

Yeah I was sad, why?

Well, first of all the look on Levance's face did it, but I mean the ending, it was so lame.

It reminded me of the Western Kentucky vs. Gonzaga game—a great game with a garbage ending. A breakdown on defense, and a boring layup.

Personally, I think there needs to be a new rule in the NCAA, and if you're with me, let me know.

If a game comes down to the buzzer, it needs to end insanely, and if it doesn't, well the point doesn't count. Any takers?

P.S. Louisville is going to take it home and save my bracket!
