Ryback vs. Big E Langston and 10 Must-See WWE Feuds in 2013
With all of the drama and rivalries that occurred in 2012 over, the WWE Universe will look for new matches and feuds to begin in 2013.
CM Punk is still WWE Champion, but he will be very lucky to stay that way one year from today.
He, along with other former independent stars such as Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose and Antonio Cesaro may be showcased more in the new year. Ryback, Big E Langston and other NXT superstars could also be part of the focus of WWE in 2013.
Veteran superstars such as the Miz, Big Show, John Cena and The Undertaker are hoping not to be lost in the shuffle of the new stars.
With many new superstars, the doors to new feuds and rivalries open in WWE for the writers to create.
With that said, let’s take a look at 10 must-see feuds that I hope to see in WWE throughout 2013 and how they would be set up.
CM Punk vs. the Miz
When the Miz hosted MizTV with CM Punk as his guest on the December 3rd edition of Raw, we witnessed a preview of a feud we should see in 2013.
Just like he did on his DVD, CM Punk expressed real-life animosity towards the Miz. Unfortunately, the Miz didn’t attempt to continue the fight and settled for childish jokes instead.
As we approach 2013, CM Punk and the Miz could create a very enticing feud using real-life feelings as well as epic promos from both superstars. Punk and Miz are two of the best talkers in WWE. Miz has his own talk show on WWETV due to his excellent mic skills.
The Miz is not the best wrestler in WWE, but a feud with CM Punk could benefit Miz as well as WWE fans.
Ryback vs. Big Show
Another new feud we should see in WWE in 2013 deals with two superstars who are rumored to possibly face each other at WrestleMania.
This feud can easily be set up if Big Show holds onto the World Heavyweight Championship and Ryback wins the Royal Rumble match.
However, even if Big Show loses his title, or Ryback fails to win the Rumble, this match could still get set up at Elimination Chamber. If Ryback or Big Show costs the other the match in February, the other can demand revenge at WrestleMania.
However the feud gets set up, it would be very entertaining to watch and see Ryback show his strength. Hopefully, Ryback practices plenty with Tensai before trying to Shell Shock the Big Show at WrestleMania.
Antonio Cesaro vs. the Miz
While the Miz should hope to feud with CM Punk over the WWE Championship in 2013, he may have to settle for the United States Champion, Antonio Cesaro.
Cesaro has feuded with Santino Marella, Tyson Kidd and Brodus Clay, which suggests that he needs a legitimate threat to his title.
That is where the Miz comes in.
The Miz recently became a fan favorite when he wad voted to join Team Foley against Team Ziggler at Survivor Series. Since then, however, the Miz has been demoted to talk show host and is one more often than he is a wrestler.
So the Miz needs a feud. Antonio Cesaro needs a feud. Here’s to hoping for a feud between the two in 2013.
Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett
Sheamus and Wade Barrett are very familiar with one another, both in and outside of WWE.
Their matches in WWE and elsewhere have been entertaining and enjoyable, leading to another feud WWE fans should hope to see in 2013.
Barrett seemed to be assisting Big Show in his feud with Sheamus, but now that the leader of the Barrett Barrage is Intercontinental Champion, how will the feud get set up?
Having Sheamus feud for the Intercontinental Championship would be a demotion to say the least, but perhaps after Barrett’s title reign is complete, he will be promoted to the main event.
It is not out of the question that Sheamus could regain the World Heavyweight Championship. If he is able to do so, Barrett could win the Royal Rumble match and challenge Sheamus at WrestleMania 29.
Whether this feud begins at the beginning of 2013 or later on, Sheamus versus Wade Barrett is a feud we need to see.
Daniel Bryan vs. Dean Ambrose
Daniel Bryan and Dean Ambrose are technically feuding right now as they were both involved in the big six-man tag team match at WWE TLC 2012.
However, the IWC would love to see these two in a singles feud due to their history on the independent scene.
While Daniel Bryan is a current WWE Tag Team Champion, Dean Ambrose could look to team with Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns to try to capture the titles from Team Hell No.
So far we haven’t seen any member of the Shield in singles competition, but that should change at some point in 2013. When it does, don’t be surprised to see Ambrose and Bryan begin a feud.
John Cena vs. the Undertaker
While Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, The Rock and Triple H are all superstars in the discussion for the Undertaker’s opponent at WrestleMania, I am suggesting someone who WWE may actually consider for ending the streak: John Cena.
WWE fans may expect Cena to face the Rock in a rematch at WrestleMania, perhaps for the WWE Championship this time, but that should not happen.
With John Cena as the face of the company, would WWE seriously consider having John Cena end the Undertaker’s streak?
The Undertaker had one of the best matches of the year at WrestleMania 28 with Triple H. Perhaps a match with Cena this year would make for another Match of the Year candidate for 2013.
With John Cena announcing that he will be in the Royal Rumble match, The Undertaker could make a surprise return and cost Cena the match, setting up a feud between the two early on in 2013.
AJ Lee vs. Eve Torres vs. Kaitlyn
If we are discussing new feuds in 2013 it is only fair to include one involving the divas and the WWE Divas Champion, Eve Torres.
Currently, Eve seems to be feuding with Kaitlyn. However, as we get closer to WrestleMania season, AJ Lee may find her way into the feud as well.
With WrestleMania 29 in AJ Lee’s home state of New Jersey, WWE would be wise to give AJ her first WWE Divas Championship, but how will they go from Eve as champion to AJ Lee? With Kaitlyn’s help.
Eve Torres will eventually lose the title to Kaitlyn. AJ and Kaitlyn have a history together, as friends and enemies.
With Eve demanding a rematch and AJ trying to claim her first title, don’t be surprised to see all three divas feuding with one another in 2013.
Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler
Bryan and Ziggler have been involved in matches in the past, but they are two superstars who WWE should focus more on and thus form a must-see feud in 2013.
While Daniel Bryan is arguably the most over superstar in WWE today, Dolph Ziggler is Mr. Money in the Bank and arguably the best-selling superstar in WWE right now. This means the matches we would see between Bryan and Ziggler would be epic. They both have improved on the mic during their tenure in WWE, but there is no doubt they would put on some classic matches.
A scenario for setting up this feud would be similar to previously discussed feuds involving the Royal Rumble. Ziggler may cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase soon, and if he does successfully, he will become World Heavyweight Champion. At the same time, Daniel Bryan could win the Royal Rumble match and earn the opportunity to face the World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler at WrestleMania 29.
Whether it happens at WrestleMania or later on, Ziggler and Bryan would create a very entertaining feud in 2013.
New Age Outlaws vs. Team Rhodes Scholars
Road Dogg has been working for WWE with the “Are You Serious?” YouTube Series with Josh Matthews, while Billy Gunn was recently brought back to help out at NXT.
The New Age Outlaws also recently returned to action at a house show suggesting that they could make a full-time comeback. If they do, a feud with Team Rhodes Scholars would make the most sense.
At some point in 2013, Team Hell No will break up and lose the tag team titles. The most likely scenario would be to have Team Rhodes Scholars become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. When this happens, they will go on to face tag teams such as the Usos, International Airstrike and maybe even Team Cobro.
When they have defeated all the babyface tag teams in WWE, the New Age Outlaws would make for a very interesting feud.
One of the best tag teams of the Attitude Era versus one of the best tag teams of the PG era collide for some great promos as well as matches.
Book it in 2013.
Ryback vs. Big E Langston
When Big E Langston made his debut on the main roster of WWE, how many people immediately thought about Ryback?
Because they have similar looks and feats of strength?
This makes a feud between the two inevitable. Monster against monster, both superstars are relatively new to WWE and should be main stars going forward.
While Ryback and Big E may not feud right away, there is a possibility for them to see each other more often sooner rather than later.
Let’s say Dolph Ziggler cashes in his Money in the Bank briefcase and becomes World Heavyweight Champion prior to WrestleMania. If Ryback wins the Rumble, this could set up a match between the two at WrestleMania 29. Big E Langston could cost Ryback the match against Ziggler and start a must-see feud.
Although some superstars were used more than once in these various must-see feuds, 2013 will be a long, but exciting, year in 2013.
Some superstars such as Kane, Alberto Del Rio, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Kofi Kingston were not included in my list. Who do you envision these superstars feuding with throughout 2013?
Do you want to see any of the feuds mentioned in this article come to fruition? What feuds or rivalries do you want to see in WWE in 2013?
