It's disclosure time again. If you are not a fan of spoilers, there is no need to read any further.
Especially if you are looking forward to all that the WWE has in store for Monday night's Raw.
Now, with that out of the way, it's time to get down to business.
In case you were unaware, the WWE taped this weeks edition of Raw on Saturday night. The taping was held in Washington, D.C., and definitely featured some noteworthy happenings.
The first bit of news was a title change spoiled by WWE.com via Twitter:
As you know, this isn't the first time that the WWE has decided to spoil a taped show. Back in October, they revealed that Kofi Kingston had won the I.C. title during a taping for Main Event on Ion prior to it airing.
Overall, I get why the WWE would do this, as it allows them to control how the message gets out there. Don't get me wrong, I feel the WWE should tread lightly when revealing this type of news, as it could deter fans from the product. However, chances are, most fans will now tune in to see how Barrett won the mid-card gold.
Now, onto yet another spoiler.
Apparently, the WWE is in full Royal Rumble mode, as they also revealed the first participant for the event.
According to WrestlingInc.com:
At tonight's WWE RAW tapings in Washington, DC, John Cena announced that he will be entering in the 30-man Royal Rumble match next month. Cena then promised to win the WWE Title in 2013.
So, it's official, John Cena will be partaking in the annual event. Now, one has to wonder, what his placement will be and if he truly will win. Ultimately, I wouldn't be too shocked if he won. Especially, if The Rock walks away with the WWE title at the Rumble.
Let's face it, both men are pure money-makers for the company. So having Cena-Rock II for the WWE strap at WrestleMania 29 is a no-brainer to me. In the end, we will have to wait and see what the future holds for us in 2013. Until then, we can only speculate and hopefully enjoy the storylines as they reveal themselves before our eyes.
Until then, let me know your thoughts: How do you feel about the WWE spoiling its own product?
