When Kolo Toure commented that "your team mates don't have to be your friends," he was referring to his relationship with centre-half partner William Gallas.
Toure and the former Gunners captain obviously don't share the best of relationship's, and this has resulted in speculation about which defender will be at the Emirates next season.
William Gallas' time in North London thus far has been rather unenjoyable. I feel that the French defender will no longer reside in London after 2009.
Although his defending has improved since last season, his temper and tantrums have also disintegrated and I feel the 31-year-old has had enough off Arsenal.
Kolo Toure on the other hand, the longest serving Arsenal player in the squad, also looks uncertain about were he will be next season.
The Ivorian, who is considered the toughest player in the youthful Arsenal squad, has never recaptured his immense form after suffering from malaria in early 2008. The vice-captain, whose form has had its moments this season, is the most likely to stay out of the two.
Personally, I would rather have Kolo Toure over William Gallas, but I would hate to see either leave.
However, with Phillipe Senderos returning from his loan spell at Italian giants AC Milan, I feel he will play a huge role in Arsenal's European and Premiership campaign.
Johan Djourou will also play a big role for Arsenal next year. There is also the hugely talented youngster Havard Nordtveit, who I feel will become one of the best defenders in Europe.
Mikael Silvestre is another defender to watch out for in 2009/2010, which means, including Gallas and Toure, Arsenal will have a total of six centre-halves (Alexandre Song is also a possibility).
I feel it is Gallas who is the most likely to leave but who do you want to stay; Kolo Toure or William Gallas?
