Steve Alford has some incredible numbers to consider when making your NCAA basketball picks on Wednesday night, when the New Mexico Lobos (11-0) finish off a back-to-back set against the New Mexico State Aggies (5-5), with the opening tip scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET at the Pan American Center.

The Lobos are 3.5-point road favorites in the current college basketball betting odds (courtesy of SBR Forum), while the total sits at 136 in the market.

Alford has won 18 of his last 19 games in the month of December, while New Mexico has compiled an impressive 13-3 against-the-spread (ATS) mark in that situation since 2010.

Let's take a closer look at this in-state rivalry from a betting perspective, while offering a college basketball prediction along the way.

The New Mexico Lobos came away with a 75-58 win over New Mexico State as 10.5-point home favorites on Saturday, as the team tallied a season-high 11 blocks.

Junior guard Tony Snell is the key player to watch offensively in this affair, considering he scored 24 points in last year's meeting in Las Cruces.

Sports bettors will find that the Lobos are 4-2-1 ATS in their last seven games as a road favorite of 3.5 to six points.

New Mexico State Aggies head coach Marvin Menzies wants his team to be more aggressive in Wednesday night's rematch—especially on the glass—as the team ranks 24th nationally in rebounding margin.

Sports bettors may find the Aggies as an appealing road underdog in this spot, considering they've gone 10-5 ATS when revenging a road loss versus an opponent over the last two-plus seasons.

Prediction

I'm going to recommend that readers back the New Mexico Lobos to complete the sweep in this season series, especially since the New Mexico State Aggies have suffered 10 consecutive losses to ranked foes by an average of 12.3 points per game.
