The folks in charge of the Madden NFL 13 player ratings must have been impressed with Colin Kaepernick's performance against the New England Patriots on Sunday night. Though I'm sure a boost was on the way, Kaepernick's four-TD performance at Gillette Stadium didn't hurt.

Kaepernick's overall rating goes from 80 to 83, per, which unveiled the exclusive preview of the update.

Update: J.J. Watt gets a 99 overall in latest update

Full details on Week 16 ratings changes here, per EA Sports.

The Niners were already one of my favorite teams to play with online, but the better Kaepernick gets, the more dangerous they become in real life and on Madden.

EA "Game Changer" and Madden guru ZFarls even released this video giving tips on how to be more deadly with Kaepernick at the helm:

Other notable increases include Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta. He has been very consistent all season, and his overall rating was raised from 79 to 82. Pitta isn't exactly an elite pass-catching tight end, but his 57 receptions did warrant a ratings increase.

He had seven catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort vs. the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Lastly, Russell Wilson had a huge day against the Buffalo Bills, and he's inching closer and closer to elite status. His overall rating is up from 85 to 87. Wilson led another 50-point performance from the Seattle Seahawks with three rushing touchdowns and a passing score.

He had 95 yards rushing and 205 yards passing. He has been nearly immaculate with the ball in the second half of the season. He's thrown only one interception since October 28.

I'm still not completely sold on Wilson enough to endorse an 87 overall rating, though. These last two games didn't exactly come against NFL juggernauts.

However, stats are stats, and Wilson is having a remarkable season. Because of that, it is hard to argue with his ratings boost.

The full ratings aren't released until Thursday. Bookmark this page and come back on Thursday for the full details.
