There was a lot of concern and certainly some laughter when Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks selected Russell Wilson in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

It doesn't seem so questionable now.

The Twitter-sphere has been going bonkers about Wilson and the Seahawks during their second straight slaughtering. This time, the Buffalo Bills played the role of the slaughtered.

The Seahawks spanked the Bills by a final score of 50-17, with Wilson completing 14 of 23 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown.

He also added another three scores on the ground as part of his 92-yard rushing effort.

In short, he was spectacular. And I'm not alone in that opinion.

Russell Wilson is the 1st player in NFL history with 3 rush TD and a pass TD in the 1st half of a game (per Elias).

Robert Griffin III's injury may have sealed Wilson's fate for Rookie of the Year. This performance was that outstanding.

@dangerusswilson Thanks for 39 fantasy points today keep killing it #RookieMVP

Smart play.

As for the Seahawks, the praise was just as effusive.

Sweet lord…no one wants to play the #Seahawks right now. Downright scary.

Continuing #NFL blowout trend: #Seahawks blast #Bills, 50-17, behind 4 Russell Wilson TD's in Toronto. SEA looks really complete right now.

That gives the Seahawks 100 points over their last two games.

Seattle is putting it down...Seahawks must be accounted for in these playoff conversations.

Everything is all set for next week's mega-match between Seattle and the San Francisco 49ers. Depending on how things work out, the division may be on the line.

#Seahawks sure do look impressive... However they have a lot of prep to do for the #49ers.Not gonna be easy
