The Ray's off-season wasn't huge, but it probably improved the team.

Let's review:

Acquired OF Matt Joyce from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for RHP Edwin Jackson.

This added good depth, and although Jackson's important, he's not as important as this depth.

Signed OF Pat Burrell to a two-year contract, and released 1B Dan Johnson.

Replaced Cliff Floyd, and more!

Signed OF Gabe Kapler to a one-year contract.

More depth, and a great player, too.  Maybe occasionally playing for Gross?

Signed 3B Morgan Ensberg to a Minor League contract.

More depth!

Signed 2B Adam Kennedy to a Minor League contract and invited him to Spring Training.

May see some time, but more depth.

Signed RHP Jason Isringhausen to a Minor League contract and invited him to Spring Training.

Maddon loves having guys like this in his packed bullpen.
