College Football: 5 Locks for Bowl Season
Don't look now college football fans, but bowl season is right around the corner.
Teams around the nation have been working hard to get to this point, and now that the bowl matchups are set, all of these squads have begun to prepare for their final game of the season.
Here are five things you can count on seeing when bowl season kicks off.
Wisconsin Loses Third Straight Rose Bowl
Of all the teams that Wisconsin has matched up with over the past three years, the Badgers have their best chance of winning the Rose Bowl this year against Stanford.
But Stanford will run the ball down your throat, and while the Badgers are use to that style of play, they will still lose, making it their third straight Rose Bowl loss.
Oregon and Kansas State Light Up the Scoreboard
A few weeks ago, it seemed like these two teams would play for the national title but after losing on the same weekend, both teams fell out of the race.
With both of their losses, the teams have ended up in the Fiesta Bowl against each other.
While both teams have good defenses, the offenses are incredible and will put up points for all four quarters.
Florida State Runs Away with the Orange Bowl
Northern Illinois is taking a lot of heat as their appearance in the Orange Bowl has watered down the BCS slate.
While the Huskies did a great job this year in the MAC, Florida State will run away with this game early and coast to a victory in the second half.
Sugar Bowl Ends Early
Another BCS game features Florida and Louisville. While the Sugar Bowl will love having the Gators at the game, they will not enjoy the fact that this game will be over early.
The Florida defense has the ability to shut down the Cardinals offense and despite how limited the Gators offense has been, they will have enough success to put this away early.
Alabama Rolls the Irish
While Notre Dame has had the luck of the Irish this year, their game against the Crimson Tide will bring that string to an end.
During this national title game, the Irish will be able to hold Alabama at bay for a while but as the game goes on, the Irish will be unable to penetrate the Tide defense and Alabama will win their second-straight championship game.
