This is just another injury for Edelman to add to his list of ailments. He was questionable for this game to begin with due to concussion concerns.
While his return is listed as questionable, I'd be surprised if he returns.
As I type, the Patriots lead the Dolphins 20-13 in the fourth quarter. With the Dolphins offense looking fairly inept, there is little reason for the Patriots to bring Edelman back into this game and risk further injury.
Edelman is not a centerpiece to this Patriots offense. However, he does bring big-play potential and the kind of versatility that can drive opposing defensive coordinators nuts, but his production has been inconsistent this season.
At the time of leaving the game, Edelman had just one catch for 13 yards, which is a dropoff from his production the last two weeks.
In the two games leading up to this one, Edelman combined to make seven catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding two runs for 50 yards.
Edelman was helping fill the void in the offense that has been created by the injury to tight end Rob Gronkowski, and the Patriots can definitely use him going forward while they wait for the Gronk's return.
