Bleacher Report is taking a look at some of the latest winter transfer news for Manchester City.

With their financial resources, City could capture any quality star they would like. Manchester City has had a slow start to the season domestically, but are still only one point from first position.

The team has failed to deliver in European play, though, as the team has failed to qualify for the Champions League knockout rounds and may even fail to enter the Europa League.

City's summer transfers were underwhelming and have not made a major impact on the team so far. Roberto Mancini could dip into the winter transfer market to sign the players he did want in the summer, or look at a few new targets, in order to ensure domestic triumphs.

Here is the latest winter transfer news regarding Manchester City.

Willian to Manchester City

The Daily Mirror has revealed that Roberto Mancini could be interested in Shaktar Donetsk's Brazilian star Willian.

The Manchester city boss has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal, but could be willing to shake things up offensively.

Mario Balotelli has failed to hit the target this season, while Scott Sinclair seems a wasted buy. Signing Willian, if he is available in January, would enable Mancini to field another creative player who is versatile enough to play in a variety of positions for the club.

Daniele De Rossi to Manchester City

According to the Daily Star, Manchester City are closing in on signing Daniele De Rossi.

De Rossi was linked (via the Metro) to the club during the summer window, but the club missed out on signing the Italian midfielder and instead signed Javi Garcia.

De Rossi would provide an upgrade on all of City's current defensive-minded midfielders, and could also slot into a back three if necessary.

Alen Halilovic

Manchester City has reportedly joined the race to sign Croatian starlet Alen Halilovic.

According to the Daily Mail, City were told they need to increase their bid to sign the young Dinamo Zagreb midfielder.

Halilovic has also been linked (via the Daily Mail) to Manchester United and Real Madrid.

United may have the upper hand in the race, as neither City nor Madrid have a good record of producing youth talent of late.

City will have to rely on its financial resources to win the transfer battle if they really are interested in the youngster.

Paris Saint-Germain Linked to Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli's struggles in front of goal and his lack of playing time has seen speculation rise about his future at Manchester City.

The Daily Mail has revealed that cash-rich French club PSG could be interested in the Italian forward. The two Milan clubs, Inter Milan and AC Milan, were also mentioned as possible suitors.

With Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko all currently providing good moments for Manchester City, Balotelli will find it hard to get more playing time and could be interested in a move elsewhere.

Mesut Ozil to Manchester City

According to the Express, Manchester City may be interested in Real Madrid's German star, Mesut Ozil.

Ozil has failed to sparkle for Real Madrid this season, and his lack of form is one of the reasons for Madrid's current predicament in La Liga.

Manchester City may have a decent chance to sign the playmaker if he continues to play as he does and Jose Mourinho searches for other options.

It remains to be seen whether or not City could do enough to convince Ozil that the move would be right for his career, especially considering they will not be continuing in the Champions League, unlike his current club.

John Guidetti to Head out on Loan

John Guidetti had a fantastic 2011-12 season on loan at Feyeenord, which led to speculation that he could feature for Manchester City this season.

That hasn't happened yet, as the Swedish forward succumbed to a mystery virus that almost ended his career (h/t Daily Mirror).

According to Goal.com, the Swedish forward could be sent on a loan spell to Bolton in January in order to get his career back on track.
