Aston Villa hasn't been as successful as they have wanted to in their last six games they have only recorded one win which came on Nov. 3 against Sunderland. The club has lost their last two games against Manchester United and Manchester City and have dropped further down the standings in the league table.
The team has also had managing issues as current manager Paul Lambert is their third in three seasons. Lambert succeeded Alex McLeish who was fired after only serving for 11 months.
It has been challenging for Aston Villa to gain their footing and identity while having a dismal season. Standing 18th in the Premier League table, Aston Villa holds a current record of 2-7-3 in Premier League play.
With a record of 5-3-4, Arsenal holds the sixth place spot in the Premier League table and have had better success in their most recent six matches with three wins and two losses. Their most recent win came when they drilled rivals Tottenham 5-2.
Arsenal has been getting solid play from Theo Walcott, who has three goals and four assists in 10 appearances.
The last time Arsenal met with Aston Villa was Dec. 21, 2011, when Arsenal edged Aston Villa 2-1 despite only possessing the ball 43 percent of the time.
Despite Aston Villa holding home-field advantage due to the game taking place in Villa Park, Arsenal will most likely defeat Aston Villa due to their advantage in offense and Villa's inability to score many goals.
