The Hardcore Revolution: ECW, WrestleMania, And More

Welcome back to the second column of "The Hardcore Revolution."

With WrestleMania just around the corner, ECW is forming its campaign for a great night on April 5.

The "Money In The Bank” Ladder Match is going to be phenomenal, with Christian, Mark Henry, and Finlay all vying for that precious briefcase.

Henry, the World's Strongest Man, is going to have a field day in this match. Only gravity can stop him. Finlay is going to have fun, too, with his shillelagh in hand and Hornswoggle running loose.

Christian is my front-runner to take the case. Former ECW Champion CM Punk also is in the match, but he shouldn't pose much of a threat.

As of right now, there is no ECW Championship match on the card, so we'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

There are a lot of guys in ECW who still deserve a shot at the title, but look for Evan Bourne or Tyson Kid to get a shot at current ECW Champ Jack Swagger at WrestleMania.

ECW will also have a chance to hold the Unified Tag Team Titles when World Tag Team Champs The Miz and John Morrison take on WWE Tag Team title holders Carlito and Primo Colon. If The Miz and Morrison come out on top, it would show yet again why ECW is the best brand on TV.

ECW's biggest worry, however, comes a few short days after WrestleMania, when Raw hosts the WWE draft on April 13. We could lose an entire roster and gain an entirely new one in a single event.

ECW is just fine now, but I would enjoy one or two new tag teams to spice up the place. What I definitely don't want is to lose any of the current performers.

Too bad it's Vince McMahon's show to run.

One performer I won't miss is The Boogeyman. I wish him the best of luck in all in his future endeavors, but WWE does not need anymore 1990-style gimmick wrestlers.

Give us technical, extremely skilled wrestlers and we, the fans, will make every live event and house show a sellout.

Until next time, Long Live ECW and Long Live The Extreme!
