With Notre Dame at No. 1, What Teams Have the Most to Lose in Week 13?

The BCS picture was ripped up, put in a blender and mixed beyond recognition last weekend. Kansas State and Oregon, the top two teams going in to Week 12, both went down in shocking fashion.

Now Notre Dame sits at No. 1 in the BCS standings for the first time ever.

The BCS landscape was blown up in Week 12, but what about Week 13? What teams have the most to lose this week?

Read on to find out.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama is just two weeks removed from losing to Texas A&M, which, at the time, looked like an end to Alabama's National Championship hopes.

Thanks to some crazy losses last week, they can get their hopes up again.

The Crimson Tide will face a 3-8 Auburn team to end the regular season. While it may look like an easy game for 'Bama, bad things could happen if the Tide pull a Kansas State and get beat down by a sub-.500 team.

Alabama will have to beat Auburn if they want to make it to the SEC Title game. 'Bama will most likely face Georgia, if everything goes as planned, with the winner moving on to the BCS Championship in Miami.

If 'Bama can't beat Auburn, it won't matter.

Alabama has a ton to lose in Week 13. If they can't defeat Auburn, their shot at a BCS Championship is most likely out the window.

Oregon Ducks

Oregon lost a heartbreaker in overtime to Stanford last week to contribute to the craziness that is the BCS landscape. However, Oregon's tough loss might not erase their hopes at snagging the crystal football in January.

Oregon will face Oregon State in Week 13 and must beat the Beavers to start the Rube Goldberg-esque chain of events that must take place for Oregon to get to the BCS Title game.

In Week 13 the Ducks will be pulling for USC to beat Notre Dame, UCLA to beat Stanford and Florida State to defeat Florida. If all of that goes down, the Ducks will have to then defeat UCLA in the Pac-12 Championship game.

If all of those things happen, Oregon can still sneak into Miami with a shot at the BCS Championship.

With all of the needed outside help, there is a lot for the Ducks to lose in the final week of college football's regular season.

Kansas State Wildcats

It looked as though Kansas State ended their season against Baylor last week. K-State lost by 28 points to an unranked Baylor team, which will make it tough for the Wildcats to find any big postseason games.

However, there is a chance that the Wildcats can make it to the big game. Kansas State will need a lot of help, with the same losses that Oregon needs. The main difference is K-State will need the Ducks to lose.

The Wildcats will take on the Texas Longhorns, which will give them a tiny boost, but they still have a ton to lose this week.

If the chips don't fall exactly right all around the country, Bill Snyder's surprising team will end the season with disappointment.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame arguably has the most to lose in Week 13. While the Fighting Irish sit at No. 1 right now, all of that could change with a loss to USC on Saturday.

Notre Dame has been surprising critics all season long, and have put themselves into a great position. With a win over USC, the Fighting Irish will be in the BCS Championship game.

What if Notre Dame loses? What if Max Wittek can take down the mighty Irish?

Notre Dame will be out. If Notre Dame doesn't win in Week 13, they can wave goodbye to their hopes at a National Championship.

Notre Dame can lose their shot at the BCS Title in just one game against one of their rivals.

That, my friends, is high-stakes football.
