Yankees-Pirates: Grading An Easy Win

I feel bad for Pittsburgh Pirates fans. Their team stinks every year and their team's owners never have money to buy free agents. It's almost not even fair that they have to play the Yankees even though it's only an exhibition game. I didn't feel proud after my team dismantled a terrible team like the Pirates.

A+ CC Sabathia

Yes, he let in an earned run but it was because of a balk and a steal. CC was smoking tonight. He had seven strike outs in four innings. It was the Pirates he was pitching against but it was good to see the strike outs.

A+ Hideki Matsui
He had a perfect game, going 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBI. He beat up on a pitcher he was supposed to beat up on.

A+ Mariano Rivera
I have to pick Mo because it was his first game back and he pitched a perfect inning striking out two. Hopefully, pitching only one inning is all that will be asked of him this year.

B+ Jorge Posada
My fantasy baseball catcher is Jorge so he better produce! He drove in two runs and got on base twice. Niiiice.

B Alfredo Aceves
It's not bad when you give up one run in three innings and get a save. I was wondering if most people knew that you get a save if you pitch at least three innings no matter what the score is. Of course it has to be the last three innings.

B Eduardo Nunez
I haven't mentioned him much but he's having a great spring. He only had one hit but his fourth stolen base made me notice him. Speed is always good to have.

Player of the Game: Hideki Matsui
He broke the game open with a two-run bomb. The game wasn't fun to watch because the Yankees beat up on a weak National League team.
