With WWE’s Survivor Series 2012 approaching fast, the excitement over finding out which stars will shine brightest Sunday has the fans at a fever pitch.

There are plenty of wrestlers that need a great performance to remain relevant or take the next step up the WWE food chain, but there are three superstars that need a great showing Sunday more than the rest to prove their worth and get them moving down the right track.

All of the following WWE standouts must not only have great performances Sunday, they must win their respective matches and prove just how talented they are to the WWE Universe.

Antonio Cesaro

Current United States Title holder, Antonio Cesaro, continues to get a monster push from the WWE. However, it must continue at Survivor Series with a convincing win over R-Truth.

While the company wants R-Truth to be rebuilt as a viable character, this match should be about building Cesaro as a serious champion. With yet another PPV victory under his belt—this time against a well-known face star like R-Truth—Cesaro’s heel persona would continue to take form.

As great as this match will be, Cesaro must steal the win and retain his title. While many fans would like to see an extended program between these two men, the hope is that Cesaro will move on to bigger and better things.

Maybe The Miz?

The Miz

With a face turn happening before our very eyes, it is imperative that The Miz steals the show and wins the traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series match for Team Foley.

Miz winning one for the good guys and celebrating as one of the faces would cement the turn.

The Miz remains one of the most underutilized workers in the WWE, and despite the popular misconception that his in-ring skills are terrible, his talent with a microphone and as a representative for the company are too valuable to be buried any longer.

While a win at Survivor Series wouldn’t answer all skepticism around The Miz, it would go a long way to proving his good intentions to the WWE Universe.

CM Punk

While CM Punk and his almost year-long title run have shined brighter than anyone recently, he must walk away from the 2012 edition of Survivor Series with a win and his WWE Championship.

The WWE will undoubtedly make Ryback look strong during the match to build his aura and the company will give Cena a chance to shine as well, but it must be Punk standing tall at the end of the night.

If the WWE Universe is going to buy The Rock versus Punk as one of the greatest matches in WWE history, Punk has to look almost amazing heading into the Royal Rumble.

After winning via dirty pin time and time again, it’s time for the WWE to give Punk two straight clean wins to build a feeling of invincibility leading into Royal Rumble.

Look for Punk to win clean over Cena after Ryback destroys him.
