Kentucky Takes on UNLV in NIT's First Round

The University of Kentucky Wildcats will take on the UNLV Rebels tonight in the first round of the NIT. Both teams fight for the right to continue their season.

This will be no easy task for the 'Cats, as this same UNLV team beat Louisville on the road earlier in this campaign; if UK does not come ready to play, their run will be over tonight.

Hopefully, they'll come out relaxed and ready to go play. While winning the NIT is never the goal at the start of a season, a good run in the tournament could go a long way in building towards next year and salvaging the effort of '08-'09.

After the game is over, you can be sure to find a full breakdown of the game right here.

There is already plenty of discussion about the status of Billy Gillispie and whether or not he will be fired, and there surely will be plenty more in the weeks to come. Seth Davis wrote an article today in which he stated, “One well-placed source told me last week that the decision to remove Gillispie was already 'done.'"

In the next couple days, keep an eye out for a long post on the tough decision that is facing the UK athletic department in the next couple of weeks on the status of Coach Gillispie.

On Thursday and Friday, I will be broadcasting live here all day, discussing the first round of the tournament and anything else that comes to mind. Remember to come on over and say hello.
