Both the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints enter Week 9's Monday Night Football showdown below .500 and in desperate need of a season-saving W.
The Saints come marching in trying to avoid their sixth loss in eight games, while the Eagles attempt to stop a three-game losing skid that has cost them their defensive coordinator and raised more than enough questions about the future of their starting quarterback.
The story lines are rich and the stakes are sky high for Monday night's clash. Here we get you set for kickoff with a complete guide to this Week 9 finale.

Where: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
When: Monday, November 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET
Spread: Saints (-3) Over Eagles
The oddsmakers like the Saints at home in this matchup, and its hard to argue with that. Philadelphia has lost three straight games overall and is in the midst of collapsing for the second straight season. Oh yeah, and the Eagles haven't won a road game since their season opener at Cleveland.
On the other side, New Orleans will be playing its first home game in nearly a month. The Saints boast a tremendous home-field advantage inside the Superdome and that alone should make them the favorite in this matchup of two struggling preseason Super Bowl favorites.
Neither team's defense has impressed so far this season, but the two offenses haven't done much either, living off reputation and potential rather than production. I don't see more than 50 points being scored on Monday night.
The Saints are averaging 27.1 points per game this season, while the Eagles are giving up 22.1 points per week on average. Therefore, we can project the Saints will score about 24 points in Week 9. As for the Eagles, they are only averaging 17.1 points per game. Luckily for Andy Reid and company, the Saints' porous defense is giving up 30.9 points per week this fall. Philly's point projection comes out to 24 as well.
Whether the final winds up 27-21 or 31-17, I believe fans can expect about 48 points to be scored inside the Superdome on Monday night.
No NFL expert would have thought the Saints and Eagles would have a combined five wins coming into their Week 9 Monday night matchup.
But here we are.
In a game featuring two struggling teams, it's important to find where potential edges lay. In the case of Eagles vs. Saints, New Orleans is at home and boasts the league's No. 1 passing attack. That has to count for something, and this week I think it will lead the Saints to their third win of 2012.
Eagles 21, Saints 27
